How the calculator works

Use RPM to model revenue from views.

YouTube earnings are not determined by views alone. Revenue per 1,000 views can change significantly by channel, audience, format, country, season, advertiser demand, and monetization eligibility.

01

Enter long-form views

Add your expected monthly views and a realistic RPM based on your own channel analytics or planning assumption.

02

Add Shorts separately

Shorts typically have a different revenue pattern, so the tool gives Shorts their own views and RPM inputs.

03

Include other income

Creators may also earn from sponsors, affiliates, memberships, fan support, products, or other sources outside ad revenue.

Method: Long-form revenue = long-form views ÷ 1,000 × entered RPM. Shorts revenue uses the same formula with the Shorts RPM entered. Other creator income is added separately. Growth projections compound the entered monthly view-growth rate while holding RPM and non-view income assumptions constant. Results are estimates only and are not provided by or guaranteed by YouTube.

Common questions

YouTube earnings calculator questions.

Is this calculator connected to YouTube?+
No. MegaTools.tools is not affiliated with YouTube for this calculator. The tool uses the assumptions you enter and does not access your channel analytics.
What RPM should I use?+
If you already have a monetized channel, your own analytics are the best starting point. For planning, enter a range of RPM assumptions instead of treating one number as guaranteed.
Why are Shorts calculated separately?+
Shorts monetization and revenue per 1,000 views can differ substantially from long-form content, so separating them produces a clearer estimate.
Does subscriber count determine earnings?+
Not directly. Subscribers can help build an audience, but actual earnings depend more on monetized views, audience characteristics, advertising demand, content format, and additional revenue streams.
